چکیده

The oscillatory motion in nonlinear nanolattices having different interatomic potential energy functions is investigated. Potential energies such as the classical Morse, Biswas – Hamann and modified Lennard Jones potentials are considered interaction between atoms one-dimensional nanolattices. Noteworthy phenomena obtained with a chain, for each of considered. generalized governing system equations formulated using well-known Euler Lagrange equation Rayleigh’s modification. Linearized damping terms introduced into chain. nanochain has statistical attachments $40$ atoms, which perturbed to analyze resulting nonlinearities range initial points value problem (presented second-order ordinary differential equations) largely varies, depending on potential. broken at some point(s), one atom falling off slender chain or more than off. characterized by an amplitude vibration growing infinity. In general, it observed that effects cause amplitudes vibration, accompanied disruptions nanolattice translation chaotic regular (after introduction linear damping). This study provides computationally efficient approach understanding atomic interactions long nanostructural components from theoretical perspective.

The Modified Lennard-Jones and Devonshire Equation of State

Lennard-Jones-Devonshire equation of state is an old but theoretical based EOS. The concept of the nearest neighboring molecules or coordination number is proposed to be a function of temperature and volume, whereas it is a constant in the original. The dilute gas and hard sphere limits of molecules are employed to determine this function. Improvement of this modification is demonstrated by pro...

Characterization of the base stacking interactions in DNA by means of Lennard-Jones empirical potentials.

Three empirical potentials of the Lennard-Jones type taken from literature were used to calculate van der Waals contributions to the base-pair couples stacking energies in B-DNA and A-DNA type double helical conformations. The information obtained can be summarized as follows: (1) Purine-pyrimidine and purine-purine (pyrimidine-pyrimidine in the complementary strand) sequences preferred right-h...

Computing Lennard-Jones Potentials and Forces with Reconfigurable Hardware

Technological advances have made FPGAs an attractive platform for the acceleration of complex scientific applications. These applications demand high performance and highprecision floating point arithmetic. In this paper, we present a design for calculating the Lennard-Jones potential and force as is done in molecular dynamics simulations. This architecture employs IEEE 754 double precision flo...

Ginsburg-Pitaevski-Gross differential equation with the Rosen-Morse and modified Woods-Saxon potentials

In this paper, we consider non-linear Ginsburg-Pitaevski-Gross equation with the Rosen-Morse and modifiedWoods-Saxon potentials which is corresponding to the quantum vortices and has important applications in turbulence theory. We use the Runge- Kutta-Fehlberg approximation method to solve the resulting non-linear equation.

Magic Numbers for Classical Lennard-Jones Cluster Heat Capacities

Heat capacity curves as functions of temperature for classical atomic clusters bound by pairwise Lennard-Jones potentials were calculated for aggregate sizes 4 ≤ N ≤ 24 using Monte Carlo methods. J-walking (or jump-walking) was used to overcome convergence difficulties due to quasi-ergodicity in the solid-liquid transition region. The heat capacity curves were found to differ markedly and nonmo...
